Compressor pressure monitoring

General and strict protective measures for man and machine are the top priority in fire stations in order to ensure the safety of all those involved in the event of an incident. The tireless efforts of the fire brigades do not end with the mission. Constant checking of materials, vehicles, tools, devices and work clothing is required.

ACS measuring systems can support the monitoring process here. Ever higher demands are placed on the systems. Fault-free and automated technical processes with alarm management have a direct positive effect on work quality and working hours.

With the pressure sensor KT and the digital process indicator DPA from ACS-CONTROL-SYSTEM GmbH, a system solution for compressed air compressor monitoring for the brake lines in fire fighting vehicles was developed.

The pressure of the air compressor to which the fire fighting vehicles are connected must be monitored. The safe use of the vehicles can only be guaranteed within a certain pressure range. As a rule, the pressure here should be 12-13 bar. To ensure that the pressure does not deviate, a Precont KT 0-16 bar from ACS-CONTROL-SYSTEM GmbH was installed here. A DPA is used as an evaluation device, which activates a warning light in the event of a pressure drop as soon as the pressure drops to 7 bar. Correct functioning of the vehicles is not possible under this minimum pressure.

This ensures continuous, automatic pressure monitoring and alarms in the event of a pressure drop, so that the fire fighting vehicles can be in constant readiness.
